70th match of the year, second win over a number one player this year, and goldlogly-knows final reach.

Go win your first event of the year, Caroline! :cheer:

The balance of her movement and hitting was perfect and kept Garbine from finding her rhythm. :yeah:

I admire the athlete and hard worker that Wozniacki is. Even a technically weak forehand, she succeeds in making something of it by playing it with physical strength and excellent body balance, and smart strategy. No doubt there's an excellent team work too.

Wozniacki played probably one of the best AGGRESSIVE matches I've seen her play. Solid aggressive tennis from her making very few UEs once she got going after breaking Muguruza for a second time to lead 4-2.

From there, it was one way traffic.

Mugu looked like the pusher out there today, she just didn't get anything going and even her defense and moonballs were sailing wide and long. Just lacked energy, and it has to be said a 6-2 6-0 loss as your first one as world #1 was embarrassing :spit: no matter how well Caroline was playing today.

Wozniacki defeats a second world #1 this season. Brutal, brutal performance and her FH was almost as good as her BH today. Going DTL so often and moving Mugu side to side and just basically caught her off guard, I suspect Mugu wasn't expecting Caroline to be so aggressive with her forehands today.

Smashed

Was not expecting Woz to so thorough tap dat ass but she did it. Such variety. Mug could never. Garbine was off and when she is off, with her game, she can be very off.

But Caro was not missing a ball, was in great fitness, and deserved this great win :yeah:

Let's not forget that Wozniacki is still in striking distance of YE #1, a mere 800ish points if she wins tomorrow

the consistency from la borz this year  that early US Open loss must have been super disappointing considering how consistent she's been on HC this year.

This is pretty embarrassing for Garbi. You're World No. 1. Winning just two games against anyone is pathetic. You owe it to the WTA, the crowd, and your fans to not just crumble away.

Well done to Caroline, but as we've seen in the past, this will not be any sort of new ERA. She'll revert back to her old ways eventually.

You know she's always done well there, for someone who TF gives no credit to.

SF in her debut, she had to retire injured to Serena
F the next year
RR where she lost to peak Kvitova
SF again when she narrowly lost to Serena after blitzing the RR 3-0

This would be arguably the weakest field she's qualified in, but we'll see.
