Shuai is playing ridiculously well this week. She has to be a strong favourite to win the title right now. 3 games lost in 6 sets is remarkable.

I remember that. After Dinara overtook Victoria and the quarterfinals and Serena lost in the same round, I was sure this was going to be Dinara's tournament. Funny (and sometimes cruel) how tennis turns out sometimes.

So basically what these results are saying is that despite Shuai's incredible results in the 1st three rounds it isn't a foregone conclusion that Shaui will win this tournament. I think that is fair enough, even though I'd still say she is pretty strong favourite to win as of now. But matches aren't won on paper and one never knows. I do think it will take a pretty outstanding performance to beat her, however.
