Tokyo R2: Wozniacki d. Rogers 4-6 6-1 6-4

Quite a competitive match. Wozniacki was more solid until the end.

I think it was her 68th match this year? (WTA stats)

Go Caroline!

Re: Tokyo R2: Wozniacki d. Rogers 4-6 6-1 6-4

First set she called the trainer to wrap her ankle, a little worrisome after a break
But she recovered and Rogers 3-3 set 3 service game was as bad as possible, gave it away

Woz again bullshiting her way through with lucky wins in matches that turn out to be 3 hour mugfests.
Has to be immediately stoped if not against Cibu, then Muga/Caro will do the Gods job, for tennis sake!

Wozniacki is defending champion here! 2 time champion. She isnt mugging thru nothing. Premier finals in her half go thru her
This is a hard court tournament and Caroline has won Beijing, IW Rogers Cup, also in 6 hard court slam semis
Wozniacki should always be considered a top contender in these events
Mugging nothing

Wozniacki has won exactly ONE Premier level or higher tournament since Moscow 2012, making her 1 for 89. How did she manage to win her one tournament? She was lucky enough to draw a rookie opponent in the final ranked outside the top 50 at the time (Naomi Osaka).

Wozniacki can't even be considered a top contender for dog catcher if the playing field is somewhat respectable.

Excuse me for not being worthy to comment on Caroline's stellar record in tournaments above the MM level. Who knows, she may actually win her 2nd Premier level or higher tournament in the past five years. Ostapenko and Stephens both won slams, so anything is possible.

I am rooting for her

Re: Tokyo R2: Wozniacki d. Rogers 4-6 6-1 6-4

Wozniacki won this tournament twice. If she makes the final, its her 4th here since 2010
As I said, she won IW (in 3 IW finals) won Beijing, won Rogers Cup and this year Miami final, Rogers Cup final, Dubai and Doha final. She's been in 2 USO finals and 5 USO semis
She is very accomplished here and on hardcourt everywhere
