Guanghzou R2: Wickmayer d. (1) Peng 6-4 6-4

This has to be Yanina's best win in ages in terms of ranking
She was really solid but Peng is obviously slower lately with those injuries.
25 winners, 10 UEs for Yanina tho

Nina playing well in Asia the last few years

Despite not making many winners, she's still an agressive baseliner, and she doesn't only win matches by waiting the opponent's mistake, though she can do that at times also.

I can't believe Shu took a WC when she can't run properly with her knee. Playing through this injury is so stupid.

Nine times out of ten Peng would beat Wickmayer no problem.

Yanina leads the H2H 4-1 so I would say one time out of five

I mean in the last year Peng has been in better form than Wickmayer, we all know Wickmayer tends to bottle a lot of matches.

Pretty win for Wicky.

Good to see she's still got it in her if she wants it.
Much needed win.

Now let's see if she can keep up her level against Cornet!

At least that means most top players aren't vulturing

It's a week with a strong Premier and 2 MMs so it's really normal that the top seed would most likely be someone in the Top 30 instead of a top player, unless the tournament invited one (with $)
