Tokyo QF WWW: [2]Karolina Pliskova vs [7]Angelique Kerber

Will be pretty interesting match, to be honest. And even though Kerbers recent form, the match could go either way. Hoping for Plisko to win though.

Re: Tokyo QF WWW: [2]Karolina Pliskova vs [7]Angelique Kerber

Couldn't even begin to predict this one. Angie seems to have found some signs of life in her last two matches, but let's not get carried away here.

Dokic&Kerber&Serena

Stosur - Venus - Hingis - Diyas - Jankovic - Niculescu
Dulgheru - Gavrilova - Davenport - Wozniacki

Aga - Kvitova - Cibulkova - Lisicki - Bencic - Cornet - Halep - Sevastova - Mladenovic
Some level of love/fascination for Ivanovic, Giorgi, Azarenka, Sharapova, Makarova, Kuznetsova, Zvonareva

Pliskova in three sets here. Can't really see Kerber breaking her serve.

Kerber played well today, if she can hold onto that form then it will be a close match.

Karo is far from good since Wimbledon honestly. They both had bellow par performances as Nr 1s but now none of them holds it anymore. I like to think Kerber will win but the odds for me are like 30-70.

Re: Tokyo QF WWW: [2]Karolina Pliskova vs [7]Angelique Kerber

I think Pliskova will be the favourite for the first time?

Anyway, I pick Kerber. I caught some of Pliskova's match today. While she was constructing points much better, I'm not sure if she is confident enough to hit the kind of winners she hit last year against Kerber.

The last two #1's. Both didnt win much as #1, but the pressure is off and I expect this to be a good match, and Kerber should win this the way Wozniacki does... wear her out in a long match

I hope Karo can win this, but the courts are fairly slow and it could be the usual Halep/Kerber/Wozniacki type of match that karo usually loses

GOATber or BOTber (depends how you like it) will NID this one in two routine sets to 3&4 without a loss of serve.

From what I saw in Angie's first two matches here, some of the grittiness that we haven't really been seeing from her in 2017, started creeping back into her game. She seems a lot more committed to working points through tireless defense while still trying to assert the more aggressive parts of her game. We'll see. I'd love an Angie win here.

Pliskova's now ex coach says she needs to play with more courage to win Grand Slams. Pliskova wants to play safe. Angie was a winner in 2016 because she went for it and didn't play safe.

Re: Tokyo QF WWW: [2]Karolina Pliskova vs [7]Angelique Kerber

This year she had some rest, enjoyed life and money a little and now she will have some practice in this Asian swing only to be back to N°1 and complete career Grand Slam winning FO/Wimbledon next year!

At some level, Karolina does seem to suffer from nerves. At times she seemed to be a bit too negative/frustrated with herself. But I guess, she has to decide whats comfortable for her at the end! Hopefully she can reach her potential

I'd love for Kerber to win this but I'm not going to get too excited.
