Anne Keothavong injures her knee in Lexington

No that many of you care but I do!

Mi-Ra Jeon def. Anne Keothavong 7-5, 6-3
1st Set :
Mi-Ra started the match very aggressively and hit the balls harder than yesterday. She won the 1st game with love. So, 1-0. In the second, Anne fired some good shots and in the third. So, 1-2 for Mi-Ra. In the 4th game, Anne committed 2 DFs and lost the game with love. After the game, it was neck and neck game. 3-2, 3 all, 4-3, 4 all. During that time, Anne tried to the net more and finished many points with her volley. And Mi-Ra fight with her blistering passing shots. At 5 all, Mi-Ra finished the game with love running down to the Anne's drop shot. At 6-5 Anne's service game, the point was 15-0 (Mi-ra's return out), 15-15(Anne's BH UE), 30-15 (Mi-ra's slice out), 30-30 (Anne's bh UE), 30-40 (Anne FH netted), 40-40 (Mi-Ra's strong FH out), ad Mi-Ra( return winner), game Mi-Ra after long rally.

2nd Set : 1st game was Mi-Ra serving and long deuce game, but Anne managed to win it and won 2nd. So, 0-2 for Anne. In the 3rd game, Mi-Ra's blistering smashing turned the match's direction. Mi-Ra got great confidence from it. (cause she made some mistake on overhead in the 1st set.) Mi-Ra started to hit the ball with confidence, and won 5 games in a row. So, 5-2 for Mi-ra.
At 8th game, losing with 2-5, Anne started to hit the ball more than ever to turn around the match. Finally, she won the game, so, 5-3. At 9th game, at 15 all, Mi-Ra saw Anne is running to the net, so Mi-Ra send a lob over Anne, Anne ran down the ball and send back the ball even without turning, Mi-Ra hit the ball using volley, then Anne was too hurried to the court then fell down with screaming. She couldn't get up for a while. Mi-Ra crossed the net and took care of Anne. Anne was carried by some staff and went to a hospital. According to a doctor in the site said Anne twisted her knee, and need to get examined for details.
Hopefully, she recovers soon.

Thank you Eric_tennis for the article! Sounds horrible! If it's as bad as it sounds, she could be out for the rest of the year!

Good lord!!! Sorry to hear this news!!! Anne was just beginning to raise the level of her game, and become a serious British player. Really nice girl. Gave a bunch of us an autograph, last year at USopen, even after she had just lost to Maureen Drake in the final round of qualies.Hope it's not too career threating, and she'll be back soon.Well wishes!!!
