If she is taken down by a Russian in the final......
But so far, she is just too good this year. Let's hope no one will.

Lindsay just lost concentration, and was still getting used to the switch from the grass prob, hasnt she only lost 2 sets in almost 3 tournies now?

Women's tennis sucks.

Davenport is not that good. She has not reached a grand slam final for 3 and a half years. Her head-to-head with Dementieva is 3-4 (Dementieva leads) in their last 7 matches.

As many (John McEnroe in particular) have commented, Lindsey has powerful serve and return but her endurance is not good. The secret of beating her is to prolong every point. Don' t play fancy but just get the ball in. (In other words, don't try to "finish" Lindsay, but let her finish herself.) Karolina Sprem is a great player but got beaten badly by Lindsay twice, because her quick and flash style feeds to Lindsay's game.

Dementieva, on the other hand, has a good chance of beating Lindsay today. I say 50-50.

Davenport is looking good right now bcuz everyone else is bad or injured. Davenport might sweep the California circuit (she always does well there), she might win Newhaven next month, but come the USO, the other players are going to step it up. When it's really on the line at the Grand Slams, i just don't think Davenport has what it takes any more.

Venus was on the brink at BOTW. Davys not invincible now, but she has no Belgians to deal with, and thats really working in her favor. Davy should run over every Russian in the field now, except Dementy.
