Sandrine Testud lost in Stockholm

64 63 to Katalin Marosi in first round of qualifying. Is she deserved over Tatiana Golovin for Olympics? Even Testud is one of my favourite players and Golovin is not one of them but let's face the fact, Golovin deserved it more!

The tournament played on hardcourts, by the way.

It's 100% sure that these Olympic games are the last Sandrine has a chance to be at, I don't know why she shouldn't be, for years she was the most consistent single player playing for France, one of the best doubles player on tour so why not? Remember, this nomination is an appreciation for her career, I don't see aything wrong she was given the priority.

Tati is young, undoubtedly the future is hers so leave it, she will have numerous chances in future to prove how great is she

I think players should be selected on merit and not for sentimental reasons. If you base it on that we can say its Frazier's last Olympics so she should be on the US team, or some other old player who didnt make the team. I know Testud got in on injury rank but since this is only every 4 years i dont think injury rank should be allowed in a tournament like this.

if ASV is playing, what's stopping her from playing it too.
Well, it'll probably be Sandrine's farewell Olympics, so wish her luck.

Of course it is. I might mean something to casual fans, but we all know this is just another bonus invitational Tier IIB event. Maria is not playing, Kim's not playing and Lindsay's not playing. A gold medal does not really add a lot of weight to their resume even though it does bring a certain amount of glory. I think it's great they are inviting Sandrine and Aranxta, It's not like Tatiana has a chance to win too.

Sandrine hasn't had a good year at all. She hasn't even had a decent year.

I don't agree with the French Federation in picking her over Golovin, although I like Sandrine a lot more. Her past should have NOTHING to do with being picked for the Oympics, otherwise Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert could have replaced any two of the four Americans on the squad.

actually the French Federation picked Tati but the ITF decided to pick Testud because of her protected ranking
