Serena's comments about WTA

It sounds a little bit like sour grapes to me. I think she is a bit pissed off with the wta, because they have dethroned her and chosen their new Queen Maria and Maria has been getting loads of media attention.

I know I would probably be bad rep for this and I will go from green to red but I do think it is factor.

Pressed for an explanation, Williams said she was being deliberately vague, but alluded to Tour-imposed fines for players who don't honor their commitments.

``It's hard because you got these things going on and if you don't play, then things can happen,'' she said. ``It's almost as if people don't care that you're really hurt or not. Everything is about making the dollar. I'm trying to make a dollar. That's what it's all about these days.''

Asked whether it would be worse for the Tour for her to miss several weeks instead of skipping one event, Williams said, ``I would think so, but apparently that's not how the money is made.''

Is Williams being forced to play in Toronto?

``I think I should leave on that note because I don't like to lie,'' she said, smiling.

I don't understand how you can be fined if you are injured......similar to the issues that Justines coach brought up a while back....Its ridiculous.

Your really not too bright are you? The wta didnt dethrone her. Also maria is hardly the new queen being ranked what? Eight? Sorry but if anyone is the "new queen" its justine who sits at number one with two more slams than maria.

Obviously cybil and sjw care otherwise they would not have to resort to personal insults, I think alot of Williams sisters fans are quite brainless they cannot argue a point.

First off, Serena doesn't even need to be talking, its people like Kim Clijsters and Jelena Dokic that need to be saying something. Serena plays every once in a blue moon. I remember like in 2001 she played 9 tournaments. Yes, you commit to the tournament, you should follow up, unless you have an injury. She does make some valid statements, but it should be coming from somebody who is a tournament workaholic.

all the players feel this way, and it is unfortunate that the wta feels that they have to compensate for their "loss" in this way. serena is just speaking the truth. personally, if i just had an injury flare up, the last thing i would want to do is go to another tournament just to pull out once i get there so i don't worry about losing money.
