Also a really great article detailing how Serena and her fiancé first met. Intriguing and enjoyable read, especially for her fans as she will be greatly missed at Wimbledon.
It was unique and risqué when Demi Moore did it all those years ago but now every man and his dog has poised naked while pregnant it has become very uninspiring. For a women who wants to be know for breaking boundaries and forging new paths whats the point of following the crowd and copying z-listers? (not Demi Moore).

Not everything has to be about breaking boundaries, maybe this was just about shooting an aesthetically pleasing magazine cover that celebrates her pregnancy and that's it?
I didn't read the article but did any portion of it discuss John McEnroe's comments something to the effect Serena was a great player but would be ranked around 700 on the tour???
Also interesting note. Serena and her doctors thought she was 3/4 weeks pregnant at the AO and didnt figure out until after that it was 8. She found out the week before and made Alexis fly out early. The only other people who knew were the doctor, her friend Jessica, Jill,Alexis and Venus.
Doesnt even sound like Oracene knew. Can you imagine what was going on in venus' mind during that final?
It nothing against Serena, but I have to admit I'm getting a little tire of all these women posting like this while pregnant. But I'm very old school I can remember how women used to try to hide their pregnancy for as long as they could. I guess things have just totally changed?
I like the pics... but I'm more interested in the article.
The Australian Open presented a new challenge that Serena had never faced before in her career. Because of the pregnancy she did not have the same endurance. She could uncharacteristically feel herself getting tired between points, particularly long ones. If a match went to three sets she knew she would lose, so she was determined to make every match two sets. She also had to deal with the Melbourne heat, which can be vicious on the court in the late afternoon: despite hating playing in the morning, Serena, because she had the option of choosing the match time in the early rounds, played as many as possible at 11 A.M.
You had to win seven matches to win the tournament.
Beautiful photos - I always like Annie's work to be honest. I especially like the shots of her with Alexis. Very intimate. I also love the cover of course! The article is equally as interesting and gives an insight into Serena and Alexis' relationship - something that Serena fans didn't know much about. So that was a pleasure to see. Very interesting to hear how close the circle was that knew about the pregnancy at the AO. Also as a fan I'm selfishly happy that she plans to come back fairly soon - however understand that she needs to take as much time as she needs. :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:
