Wimbledon: Most wide open ever

Donīt think I have ever seen a 6-1 betting favourite.

Pliskova 6-1
Kvitova 8-1
Konta/Muguruza 9-1
Kerber/Azarenka 10-1
Keys 12-1
Venus 14-1
Ostapenko 16-1
Halep 18-1
Vandeweghe 20-1
Svitolina 22-1
Mladenovic 25-1
Wozniacki/Radwanska 33-1
Timea/Bouchard/Cibulkova/Kasatkina/Safarova 50-1
Bigger the winner rest

I am not a fan of the direction a lot of Maria threads have taken over the last 12 months.
The undertone is very disappointing, aggressive and the comments are sometimes rude to a player just trying to earn a living, playing her hardest and having a good amount of success given her god given, natural talents.
You made the list: NEW President Bouchard, Cibulkova, Mladenovic, Wozniacki, Kerber, Cornet, Watson, Broady.
Please note this is a signature about Tatjana Maria

Think I'd like Pliskova to win. She's gradually showing up at Slams since the US Open final and this should be her best surface. Also expecting Svitolina's new style and form to translate well. Also, Lucic-Baroni hopefully will bounce back and reignite some of that AO form. This is the tournament where it all began for her after all. What a story it would be.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if Pironkova won it.

Re: Wimbledon: Most wide open ever

Petra 2nd favourite and she's won just 1 match all year.

Which is 1 more than 5th favourite Azarenka.

Re: Wimbledon: Most wide open ever

I hope that one of the Czechs ends up winning it. I'm gonna be rooting for Ostapenko this time around especially since Maria will not be playing the tournament. But, I don't think that Ostapenko is ready to make another deep run at a grandslam this soon.

Re: Wimbledon: Most wide open ever

I would go with Pliskova winning her first slam.. the way she played on clay shows she will be a serious threat on grass. Just has to stay healthy. And it would correspond with her taking over as number 1, which is good. Too bad for Halep, I wanted her to take number 1, but maybe it is better she takes it with a slam. US Open will be better for her.

The winner is probably not on that list. Someone like Pavlyuchenkova, how about Vesnina?
Wimbledon, IW, she's close to Player of the Year, just needs this one
Could be a totally new name, like Dodin
