Poldo had it right, unless it's the draw on the Roland-Garros site that is wrong. Golubic vs Sasnovich comes before Giorgi vs Dodin.

Stosur/Kuzzie/Mlad/Mugu vs... Halep?

too tough to call..I'm voting Halep, disregarding her ankle problem..if she gets her way through the pain and gets better and better..she has a good draw to go all the way

dark horse in bottom half: Garcia with a shot at semis (one can dream!)

#16 ·
She would have almost cake walk till SF, but she would have to be in the top form and she is not even in 20% :oh:

Some sections of the draw sucks :eek:

#10 ·
Halep drew very well if she's healthy. Some of these round 1's are great! Barty/Keys, Muguruza/Schiavone, Kerber/Makarova

Relatively balanced draw.

Angie's R1 draw is unfortunate, but other than that has quite a straightforward path until R4 against Kvitova/Stosur.

Defending champion Muguruza has the toughest draw by far of all the top 8 seeds, Schiavone then Kontaveit/Niculescu then MLB/Mladenovic in R4 is just unfortunate.

Would love to see Venus/Anisimova in R2, should be a nice learning curve for Amanda!

Karo has a good draw too, probably will get upset by someone like Safarova/Begu in R4 though.

Halep should really go all the way with the draw she has; unless her ankle is severely bothering her. No real threat until the QFs against Svitolina probably.

R16 predictions:
Ostapenko - Stosur;
Wozniacki - Kuznetsova;
Muguruza - Mladenovic;
Venus - Goerges;
Svitolina - Sevastova;
Peng - Halep;
Garcia - Osaka;
Safarova - Pliskova.

QFs:
Stosur - Kuznetsova;
Mladenovic - Venus;
Svitolina - Halep;
Garcia - Safarova.

SF:
Kuznetsova - Mladenovic;
Halep - Safarova.

F:
Mladenovic - Halep.

(may edit my picks once the qualifiers have been placed because it all depends where Marketa lands... she can REALLY go far if she gets lucky with her placement)

Thanks for being so sweet on Lucie :kiss:

Interesting draw, I can see Makarova upset Kerber in the first round, Kontaveit upset Muguruza in the second round, Siniakova upset KaPliskova in the second round, Barthel upset Svitolina in the second round.

#47 ·
How Mona gonna upset GOATolina when she just got double bageled by her? :hysteric:

#14 ·
Some easy spots for the qualifiers, Jankovic, Rodina, Hesse (lol), Townsend.

Wozniacki again lucky until she will have her ass handed to her by Bertens in Rd 3
Jelena will 100% lose to Errani, Vondrousova, Haddad Maia etc :tears:

And Wozniacki yet again lucky to be put in the section with all of the qualifiers and WCs. She has 2 walking BYEs to reach R3 like in Aussie Open :spit:

Too bad for Makarova, as well as Muguruza/Schiavone in R1!

I dont know if its a balanced draw because I'm not sure who the contenders are besides Halep & Svitolina, and they play fairly early, a QF. The names in Haleps 1/8 are not in form: Vesnina, Kasatkina, Navarro, so she should make that QF
Good to see Kvitova in the draw. This is going to be crazy!

Solid first quarter with Kerber/ Stosur/ Bertens/ Kuznetsova + Ostapenko
Tough first round for Kerber though. And Giorgi vs Dodin :spit: Hide your kids.

Pretty much draw from hell for Muguruza with Schiavone and Kontaveit. I don't see her in round 3. Nice draw for Mladenovic though.
Venus has a nice draw too, though could battle hard with Gavrilova. Great opening for Goerges or Bacsinszky.

The third quarter looks like the toughest with Svitolina/ Sevastova/ Cirstea/ Suarez Navarro/ Kasatkina/ Halep.

Kinda great draw for Konta. Very soft draw for Radwanska. Pavlyuchenkova has THE draw to finally do something.

#25 ·
Svitolina has a good draw, week 2 should be automatic.

Defending champion Garbine Muguruza, not so much, good bye Garbi in week 1.

I never got the whole 'you want an easy draw'.... you really don't. It's rare for a player to win a grand slam with an easy draw, players get a lot more out of thrashing difficult players.

I don't think you can rule out Kerber, she'll win her first round match easily despite a number of pundits already suggesting it could be a struggle for her. It will go some way to get her into the semifinals. She'll be joined by Mladenovic I suspect.

In the other half of the draw I can't see Halep having too many issues reaching the semi's, perhaps dropping a set (out of laziness more than anything else) against someone like Cepelova. I think the fourth quarter is a real coin toss between Konta (heads), Pliskova (tails) and Agi (side).

In the semi's I can see Kerber and Halep winning.

Halep to win in the final 6-4 6-3.
