Porsche and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) have entered a multi-year global partnership. Porsche will be the official and exclusive automotive partner of the WTA and the new title partner of the “Porsche Race to Singapore”, the qualification leaderboard for the WTA Finals in the Asian metropolis.
I don´t like that..all the players at the WTA FINAL make a lot of money there..and the #1 gets now also a new PORSCHE..if you see how hard the young players have to fight at ITF ..it is so sad.
It pays to ignore a minor matter such as a written rule in your rulebook:
Article 10.11.4: Where an Event that will take place after the period of Ineligibility has an entry deadline that falls during the period of Ineligibility, the Player may submit an application for entry in the Event in accordance with that deadline, notwithstanding that at the time of such application he/she is Ineligible.

Its good for the WTA to add a sponsor. Better to help the tour than a few players and just one tournament in Stuttgart
They still have not added a title sponsor. Like Sony Ericsson, which is now Sony Mobile
Maybe you can thank the pioneers of tennis who went to a rather small indoor tournament in Filderstadt outside Stuttgart organized by Dieter Fischer.
Tracy Austin, Sabatini, Chris Evert and especially Martina Navratilova who made the tournament such a succes that they are now at a bigger venue in Stuttgart.
I have seen many of these tournaments in the seventies, eighties and nineties on television.
Lesson do not dismiss the older players at any time they were true professionals although they were paid to little compared to those of today.
This should make the TD of the Finals happy, as the race winner is unlikely to skip the event if a new Porsche is going to be presented to them on-site, probably at the awards night.
I agree that this deal doesnt mean the YEC will be in Germany. It means it will be the Porsche race to... and this year its Singapore.
But the idea is great. I've said all along that the WTA should be talking to billionaires and successful companies, see if the powers runing them are WTA fans
Porsche sponsors this WTA event and some WTA players, so they are a great company to discuss a WTA deal with. This was smart and what the WTA should be doing. Look at all the successful companies that sponsor different sports or stream sports, and find out if any are run by WTA fans, or see if they want to be involved with the WTA tour.
