True. I thin there was some really nice point when she was able to prepare her position for the final point. She even didn't miss an easy volley, something we couldn't imagine two years back >
The most surprising part is how calm was Coco, no racquet smashing. I still need to find stats, because I think there could be more then 20 aces in the match. :grin2:
First off, congrats go out to Karo! She played very well today
Even though CoCo lost, I'm still very happy with the way she competed today. She kept fighting until the end even after going down an early break. She had her chances, but Karo was just a bit better today. That being said, CoCo has improved immensely on red clay!

Pliskova is the closest thing the tour has right now not named Serena,Sharapova to an all court player. I really believe that she's gonna win a slam soon. God knows she deserves one. She's rock solid and she's consistent so that'll certainly get her far.
I am actually very curious about her next match. Even if she is not favurite we can see her improvments more against some clay players. Coco played well but she is definitely not one of the TOP clay players.
Coco is a tough match up for Kaja, though, simply because they can both hold serve all day. In a way, they both neutralize each other's biggest weapon. Against most other women, Kaja can simply hold and wait for her opponent to throw in a bad service game. You actually have to break Coco, because her serve is pretty good. And vice-versa. It's really no surprise the h2h is 2-2.

rumors have it that skoda factory was on heavy extendet nighshifts the last weeks to provide the KA-1000
with the obviously crucial clay update v3.85. it showed today, so massive shoutout to all the dedicated workers back there in czechia...
I think Pliskova has a strong chance of finishing the year number one, especially if Kerber keeps on flopping. She is now only 1000 points away from the number one ranking.
I'm gutted for Coco. She has the game to beat anyone but can't seem to make a major breakthrough. Congrats to pliskova. She played well and deserve the win.

Wozniacki was #1 for 2 years and PotY. I think Pliskova should get there. Unless Kerber has a big run coming soon. Wozniacki is 2 in the race and I wont be surprised if this a 3rd YE #1 for Caroline. But a long way to go
Right now, Pliskova still can gain on Kerber this week
Terrific job from Kaja!! She had a losing record to Coco prior to this, so I expected a tough one. Really happy she pulled it off and I hope she can power past Siegemund.
