Miami QR1: 15 yo (WC) A.Potapova d. #84 M.Sakkari 6-4, 0-6, 7-6

Very nice win for the young russian who got a 25 k title few weeks ago defeating Khromacheva among others so this is actually not her first top 100 win

Her 1st slam q was a mess

Bigger thing was Potapova recovered to win. That shows something

Hopefully Potapova has a good head on her shoulders , which i think she does.

The talent is there for sure, liked what i saw in Sao Paulo

Re: Miami Q1: Queen Potapova d. Maria Sakkari 64 06 76(2)

Strange match. First set, Sakkari got up 3-0 and lead points 12-1. Then Nastya turned it around and got the set. Second set, the first 3 points were competitive but Nastya lost themall. Then it looked like she gave up and conceded the rest of the 2nd set because Sakkari won almost all the points to win 6-0.

Third set, Nastya in control, was one point away from it being 5-0. Then still lead 5-2, two times to serve it out, broken both times. Recovers to force a tiebreak, and win a tiebreak. Without seeing a stream of the match, it's hard to judge much other than looking at the scoring. Whether she started to take unecessary chances after she got up? Or Sakkari started playing better?

It's the other one, Anisimova, who beat Khromacheva, Maria is her 1st one.
