Lindsay Davenport vs Vera Zvonareva

This going to be quite tough for Lindsay, I mean if she can clear this hurdle Maria sharapova or Ai sugiyama maybe the only ones that are dangerous for her in her side of the draw.... So who will win this match? I'd say Lindsay but it's going to be difficult...

What about Sprem? But Lindsay is not going to beat Vera.

I'd say if Sprem keeps up her form she'll be able to possibly threaten Lindsay if they meet.

Lindsay thrashed Vera in the Aussie Open and now she's on grass which favors Lindsay even more and on which Vera is not completely comfortable. It could still be difficult, but Lindsay weould really need to have a bad day to lose. I'm more worried about Karolina Sprem stopping Davenport before the semis. If she makes it the the Final 4, Sharapova or Frazier could be a real test for her. (I'm not as concerned about Sugiyama or Tanasugarn troubling Lindsay.)

But I do think Lindsay DAVENPORT (USA) def. Vera ZVONAREVA (RUS) 7-5, 6-3.

Lindsay completely lost any kind of willpower and ability to beat a tough opponent in a tough match. As soon as she meets a resistance, she loses. And Vera will hang tough. And Lindsay will just let it go.

I didn't see Vera's match but I did see Lindsay's.

She's striking the ball well so Zvonereva will have to move her around a lot to win it.

Don't understand why ppl think Vera is such a threat to Lindsay...... particularly we are talking about playing on grass.......

Lindsay is still good enough to beat Vera despite her physical problem......

Lindsay will win in 2 sets!!!

Lindsay should be fine if she doesn't get down on herself. Vera does put up a fight...but she has a bad temper...so who knows.

I'll take Lindsay 6-4, 7-5

Corina Morariu-get better soon! I miss cheering for you!!

ANDRE AGASSI

It is not that important any more. They slowed the surface. They introduced heavier balls, even further slowing the play. Sprem could not beat Venus on clay. She could not beat Daniela on grass. She beat Venus on grass. This days surface is really not such a big deal. Everything is now about confidence and mental strength.

I agree. Vera isn't THAT BIG a threat to Lindsay, but it will be a bit of a challenge.
