Venus vs Pavlyuchenkova
Muguruza vs Coco
Serena vs Konta
Pliskova vs Lucic Barroni

When was last time this happen? No room for pusher, counter this year
They all have serve and big ground stroke, It will be battle of WINNER of Battle of ERRORS

I think Serena will win it all, she likes flat groundstroke. But they stil have a single chance If they can keep their serve PEAK at big moment like Serena

Predict: Serena def Pliskova and Muguruza to win it all

Interesting. Courts might be faster this year?

All these dipping pussies over a ballbasher festival

If you like 2 shot rally ending in UE then this draw is perfect for you. Serena is the best defender left in the draw now.
Big babe tennis even with 2-5 shot rallies is still much more better than push-fests and their 'epic' fighting :oh: ....

Australian Open have always been a tournament that favoured attacking players, regardless of varying court speeds. Bigger hitters can keep matches, rallies and kilometres shorter than counterpunchers/defenders. Look at Kuznetsova and Makarova this year after their intense fantastic long matches. Lost tamely in the next round with lots of cheap UEs. Generally speaking though everybody is mentally and physically sharp coming out of the off-season and counterpunchers/defenders feed off mental and physical fatigue. Kerber was the exception, not the rule. And even she was at the height of her aggression here, especially in that 2nd set against Vika, when she was 2-5 down.

Such a pity Kerber, Woz, Aga, Halep, Cibulkova aren't here anymore

This is half a mess. But great Serena, Venus and this young hope Jo-Ko are still here.

It's not like pushers ever did that well at the AO when you look at the finalists over the years. Plus pushers have often been badly punished by attackers over the years. It's not a new trend. It's just that this year, the draw was better balanced for attackers.

Bashfest era invented by Seles and Williamses has come to it's peak. We can harvest now all the fruits of baseball tennis teachings without invention or talent with baseball Jo-Ko as the leader of generation. :SNE::SNE::SNE:

Rays of light, feminity, skill and technique like srixon ninja princess Aggie Rad are losing to the forces of evil

Agnieszka Radwanska is the biggest fast court speciallist currently in tour. Those courts are nothing about fast. On fast courts of Wimbledon and Tokyo she dismantled Whooparenka's bashing in 2006 and 2011.
Nobody cares.

Yes both sides have big losses, in that department, easier to hit through. Coco just destroyed Kerber and MLB destroyed Aga like sitting ducks. Men's side: Djokovic sent packing and Murray too by a serve volleyer no less! Nadal barely survived Zverev. Federer doing well considering his hiatus.

I didn't expect Pavlyuchenkova or Vandeweghe or Lucic-Baroni to be in the last eight, so it's hard to predict. Also, Venus' draw has been marshmallow soft (and arguably continues to be).

You have to figure this is where the party stops for Lucic-Baroni

Venus vs Pavlyuchenkova ... it's not a mismatch. I think Venus' superior movement will win the day.

Based on their respective resumes, Mugu vs Coco is a straight set win for Muguruza. But the way Coco has been playing is WAY above her past level.

Serena vs Konta. Serena vs anybody Serena is favored, but Konta won't wilt. I just don't know if she's enough of an athlete to hang.

Last major had QFs with Kerber, Wozniacki, Halep, Vinci and Sevastova, Konjuh
The losses Kerber, Wozniacki, Radwanska, Halep all had here were onesided. None played like a contender. Same with Kasatkina, Bencic. Gavrilova probably had the best AO among the defensive players.
So a big change this major with Coco, Lucic and Venus
The only back to back in QFs are Serena, Pliskova who might meet again in a SF, 2 majors in a row

Good for the game, good for the fans, and good for the WTA. People want to see thrilling shot making with winner after winner, not endless pushing with players 3m behind the baseline.
