Could we be witnessing a Serena vs Venus GS Final for one Final Time? What do you think?

Venus leads the H2H with Nastya 3-2 and Muguruza 3-0

She also leads Coco 1-0.

It would be amazing for Venus to reach a Slam Final once again, but we must be conscious of the fact that she has Sjogrens' syndrome. Not even herself knows how she is going to be feeling on the next day so we never know what could happen from one round to another. She could also suddenly play a bad match, just like what happens to every tennis player. Too many variables for us to know what could happen in a few days.

Let's just enjoy this AO run until it comes to an end, no matter if it's at the QF / SF / F. I know Venus' fans are.

Possible but it will be hard for both. Serena had a soft draw (yes, despite Bencic and Safarova, who both are far from their top 10 form) and has shown some questionable form since the beginning of the year. She has, with Konta and Pliskova, two big hurdles in front of her.

Venus had a joke draw so it's hard to know where to put her level compared to others.

Williams is going down to Pavlyuchenkova in next round, isn't she pushing 40 already?

I think its very possible, but realistically only Muguruza has made a slam run over several years among the top half 4, so if she feels the pressure, any of the other 3 can make it also
Serena v anyone, but very possible for an all Williams Final and possibly Nadal/Federer, if you really miss 2008 that much

I think people are overestimating the chances for both to happen by a huge margin. Exactly cause it's not 2008 anymore.

I figured this would be suggested at some point. I don't think it will be a Venus/Serena final just as I don't think it will be a Rafa/Fed final.

Would love to see Venus back in a Slam final again and to make it even more special facing sister Serena :hearts:

Now watch Brady coming out on top

As much as I would like to see that happen I think that Venus will lose to Nastya and if by any chance she gets past Nastya, she will surely lose to Mugu.No way Vee will make the final, she is to unpredictable with her condition, its just hard to imagine that.
As for Serena's place in the final...well she still got to two in-form and confident players(Konta and Plisko) on her side to beat,so Serena being in the final is not also given, especially with all the pressure she is under with the approaching of surpassing Steffi's GS titles.
It would be a dream come true if the both ended up in the final with Vee on the winning side, pls  but let's be real - its highly unlikely :( maybe if we could go back 10 years in time.

Hard to see how Venus will make it. Based on her R4 match, Venus would lose to all three quarter finalists.

As for Serena, she' still a little rusty. She struggled closing out the match against both Bencic and Nicole. Now that Kerber is out and no1. is in play, I think Serena will put more pressure on herself. She must improve but, for me at-least, she is still the overwhelming favourite to reach the final.

Venus draw has been marshmallow soft. And honestly, Pavly isn't the stiffest competition, generically.

That said, if you have ten bucks you can afford to lose, bet it on V vs S. It the best long shot you can get.
