RG SF predictions

Who me? I didn't any of these players would be in the semis. To be absolutely honest, I didn't expect any of them to win their QUARTER-final matches. Even though I predicted Suarez would beat Sharapova, I expected to be wrong on that one.

Paola vs Elena
  • Two of the biggest servers on tour batle it out for ... oh sorry.. that was my Venus vs Serena rap. I dunno who the fuck is gonna win. Dementieva SHOULD win, if she's patience. All she has to do is wait til she has a good forehand to kill. She could even hit a few short balls. Anyone who plays as much doubles as Suarez will come to net on instinct. Where Elena should pass her with ease. And of course, this is one of the few players who won't be able to kill Elena's second serve.
Which, given my briliiant prognostication so far, means Suarez will win.

Anastasia vs Jenn
  • Jenn's got the biggest weapons. Jenn beat her easily in Berlin. Jenn is the better clay court player. Jenn won this title three years ago. There isn't one single reason I can see why Anastasia should win. And we've all seen what my vision is worth this fortnight.
Myskina in straight sets.

Proud to be an American
Not blind. Not uninformed. We are party to atrocities. But the response of the world after 9/11 is worth noting. Even our most dire enemies offered aid. We should all be so lucky.

Elena in a doggy match. Not particularily pretty stuff, but she'll get through.
Jennifer in 2. A tight one and a not-so tight one.

Right, Nathan! Although I think - and hope - Suarez has a chance to show Dementieva the door...

It's not "other person".

ESPN's politically correct way to refer to "them" as "one of those clay-court loving Argentines".

Since I got all four quarterfinals wrong, and predicted that Serena would win RG in a final against Momo, I think I'll just go and jump off a bridge or something. Revive me from my coma when Wimby starts.

It didn't upset me... I just like mocking uneducated tennis fans.

It's not your fault, though.

It seems that only a few people believe that PAOLA SUAREZ (for those who doesn´t remember her name) can beat Elena.
Just wait and watch the match tomorrow.
Final: Suarez - Myskina
Dale Paola!!!!!!!!!!!

Martina Hingis, the best ever!!!

Myskina in straight sets.

If Suarez and Myskina do make it to the final, would you please predict Myskina to win? I'm also paying Pam Shriver to do so and thereby guarantee a Suarez win, but I'd like to play it safe.

Best left-right combination by a German (and that includes Max Schmeling): Steffi Graf. All she did in 1987 was knock Navratilova out of #1 and try to knock Evert out of the sport. (Mike Lupica in "The Best and Worst of Tennis in 1987", World Tennis)

"A couple of years ago, we nicknamed Steffi Graf's forehand 'Jaws'. And that music would go perfectly when she starts running in to the net, swarming on that little ball." (JoAnne Russell, during the 1988 Wimbledon final between Graf and Navratilova)
