Does Amelie always play like that?

I don't often get to watch tennis; not to mention Amelie. From what I saw she looks like a true natural talent. I just can't get out of my mind how defensive she was against Elena. Is she always this defensive? I remember reading that she was a serve and volley player as a jr...

should that not have make her more agressive?

Believe me, if you watch her a lot, the first thing you noticed in that match was how defensive she was being. She has a great net game that we really never saw againsat Alyona, and she was being far too passive on the returns and letting Lena D take control of the point.

She played like that because of how nervous she was. You don't get to the semis of a slam being so defensive, and Elena capitalised perfectly.

Poor Amélie. The pressure manages to get to her every year.

Well, I walk into the room
Passing out hundred dollar bills
And it kills and it thrills like the horns on my Silverado grill
And I buy the bar a double round of crown
And everybody's getting down
And this town ain't never gonna be the same.
Cause I saddle up my horse and I ride into the city
I make a lot of noise
Cause the girls, they are so pretty...

All
ez Amélie!
