Tennis isn't about blazing winners left and right. The player that wins is the one who gets the ball over the net and into the court more often than thier opponent.

"Hatred is the coward's revenge for being intimidated" - George Bernard Shaw

"And for the best of the teen-agers who followed her, and who occasionally referred to her as over the hill, Graf had a ready answer: against top-ranked Martina Hingis, Graf wound up 7-2. Graf's stirring 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 throttling of Hingis at the French Open final this June was perhaps the most emphatic parting shot the game has ever seen. "

Yup, she was brilliant. Her game perfectly suited the heavy wet clay today and she didn't even have to come up with anything spectacular, just keep the ball in play and watch Masha self-destruct

I think Paola can be under-rated. I'm a huge Elena final but do not underestimate Paola at all, she can cause serious damage on clay.

However Maria was likely to self destruct, it being her 1st GS QF and lack of experience on clay.

Elena will be a different proposition, I just hope Elena delivers on Thursday as when she is on, Paola will find her hard to beat.

Udachi Elena, but also congrats Paola!

Never under rate Paola. She's too capable to upset players to do it. I never seen her play, but she might have played boring today because she didn't need to do anything else. She had to keep the ball in play and Maria would hit it out anyway. Why should she waste too much energy?

Don't get all critical on Paola just because she defeated Maria.

this kind of behavior, dissing a player that just beat your fave, hurts your cause more than helps it.

sharapova is a promising player. there is no need for you to make her and yourself look bad by these kinds of posts.

grow up. if suarez is horrible, what does that say about someone who just lost in her in straight sets??
