Suarez and Capriati aren't that big surprises, they are both ranked higher than their opponents and Capriati beat Serena in Rome. Myskina was the first top ten player Venus has met since her loss to Dementieva in Miami. And Mauresmo folding at RG isn't surprising anymore . So in retrospect not that surprising though I admit I thought it would be the other way around except for Suarez.

jen is not a surprise. she is one of the best players of all time. it was just a matter of time for jen to be back. as long as she has the desire, she will do well cos tennis is in her. she was born to play that game

No, Maria was playing much better tennis than Paola going into the QF, and Maria held entire control of the match. Therefore, everyone expected Masha to win. Ergo, we have four surprise semi-finalists.

I hope Paola Suarez wins although I would say that that was unlikely or I wouldnt mind Dementieva although only 1 of them could be in that match!

I am glad it is Suarez, Myskina, Dementieva and Capriati because I put a bet on these 4 to win and I should win around £40!

Myskina has just proven the ranking-switching is all wrong. She is the higher ranked.
Allez Jennifer all the way

She lost and I didn't expect her to win. Ergo nothing.
