Porsche Points divided by tournaments played

This is 2004 points (as of May 24th) divided by tournaments played. You'll see some surprising names in surprising places. But this will tell you who's really playing well in 2004, and who's just riding on last year's good performances, or playing a lot, instead of playing well.

In other words, it doesn't tell you who IS better, but it does tell you who PERFORMED better.

NOTE: A five point spread is about the difference between a 1st match loss and a 2nd match loss, in this system, so if two players are closer than that, they're pretty close to tied.

Not blind. Not uninformed. We are party to atrocities. But the response of the world after 9/11 is worth noting. Even our most dire enemies offered aid. We should all be so lucky.

The first nine names are pretty predictable. I would only have been wrong on one, inthat I expected Zvonareva to be where Kuznetsova is.

Tatiana Golovin was GREAT at OZ and indoors. has been helpless on clay

Fabiola Zuluaga is for real. So far.

The top 8 is good, if that some how (although I doubt it will) ends up the field in LA it will be a great tournament.

well patty has pulled out of 4 tournaments with injury so it's pretty impressive that she's still 10th.

Not helpless... just not as good. And if you look at her pre-2004 record, even her clay results would have been the best of her career so far - she qualified for two Tier I tournaments; she beat Garbin, Benesova and Craybas, all of whom have had big results this year; she got over 70 points out of the clay season. At the start of the year, she only had about 50 points.

I saw her at Junior Wimbledon a couple of years ago... she should be awesome on grass
