French 1st round - Justine vs. Martina

I wonder what would happen if Martina drew Justine in the first round.
With Justine not 100%, could Martina pull an upset?

Think about the hype that would create! Martina upsetting the #1 player in the world.

You know, I was just logging in and saw this topic in the index...

I thought that the draw had been done and that Justine was playing Martina in the 1st round!! I thought, wowwww...

(Message to self: pay attention!! It is not 'main draw day' yet... *sigh* )

So long, signature...

No, I'm simply stating the truth!
Ofcourse, anyone can lose for whatever reason
but I say any current top player at atleast 40%
strength could beat Navratilova quite easily.

Martina's serve sucks and her groundstrokes wouldn't
hurt a fly. Justine would jump all over her.
That goes for any current to p player.

Even the qualifiers with less experience and obviously
in awe of her and maybe a little intimidated by
the legendary status are still able to beat her.

Bless Fiona! PAY ATTNETION! LOL

No, I don't think Martina could beat any top tenners to be honest. She is good in doubles and she was good in singles during her era but the top 20s may be just too good.

However, if I had to pick someone to beat Martina, I would definately choose Monica. It would be good for RG (in fact any GS) to have a retiring legend playing a legend instead of matching up a top player to beat (I know I know, there is always possibility that she beats them! But very slim nonetheless) Martina. It will attract more viewers anyway.

Just my $0.02

Justine Henin

Thank you.

I was only joking, because you put it so 'explicit'
I guess you're right, bit since Justine lost in the first round against (WTF Aniko Kapros, there are no more certainties in life for me

Not happening....Martina ain´t beating or even taking a set off of a top 5 player...simple as that.

Always bet on black!

Hm...Justine would beat her like Olivia Lukazvxnljbcc (sp?)in Aus Open. .
I don't mean to take away anything from Martina, but Justine losing to Martina is impossible.

Martina Hingis
