Is Amelie Ready to get over the FO hurdle?

Well, it looks like she has momentum going into the FO. She has won 2 of the big ones. It looks like Amelie is peaking at the right time.

Here are the factors

1. Serena is not up to form on clay due to lack of match play
2. H-H is sidelined without much match play, and Amelie has beaten her lately.
3. Venus was a clear favorite until the injury. I hope she's ok for the FO.
4. Amelie has gotten over the mental block that is Jennifer Capriati.
5. Davenport hates red dirt, and will surely struggle at the FO.
6. Kim is out due to wrist injury.

So it looks good for Amelie, but will she unravel and BEAT herself as always at the FO?

I really hope for her that she will use all her chances and talent and that she finally can win this time at the French Open!

amelie has this additional pressure of the french crowd and french media. the fact that she is the best french player makes it that extra bit difficult coz she has to deliver the goods. the media is constantly on her back and if she doesn't have steel nerves, she will just crack up. but this time around she seems more positive. good luck to her but more luck to jen

Now it is between a HEALTHY Venus and a MENTALLY STRONG Amelie. If Amelie gets over the pressure, and Venus's ankle is fully healed I think either one has the best chance to win.

But I just hope Henin, WS, Amelie, Lindsay and Cappy all show up healthy and ready to play!!!

Like I said yesterday if Momo wins she won't win the French Open because it would be expected of her, seems when she is the favorite she lets everyone down. I have a feeling in my gut either Justine, Jennifer, Serena and or even an unhealthy Venus may win the French, but not Momo.

I think Amelie and Venus have both got hurdles to get over, I'm not sure if either of them can get over them this year but I really hope one of them does.

Personally I see Amelie winning the USO before she wins the FO

Rena- a tennis great! 22 at striking distance.

Amelie has been ready for a long time but I think it's harder for her to play in front of her own audience, it is always harder "at home". Confident Amelie would take that title easily.

SHE'S BEEN DOING GREAT RECENTLY- BUT IT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING IN HER CASE

Last year the situation was similar- she won Warsaw and was in the final in Rome, but she just couldn't handle the pressure at her home's soil out there in Paris.

And that's her main problem

i guess everybody sees that physically she's doing pretty well at the time and is definitely ready to win such a big tournament as FO.
but the question is whether she can do that mentally as well

but anyway....

GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BELIEVE IN YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I honestly think she is. Esp. if she gets into the finals with a surprise finalist.

Amelie is definitely the most in-form player right now...... winning the two majors on clay heading to the French Open..... She should win it!!!! (Well... of coz' given that she is going to be healthy for the whole two weeks)
