Mats Wilander on Williams X2 and Henin!!!

"I also like to see Justine Henin-Hardenne play, I like Kim Clijsters' fighting spirit, but to me I think there are not many more beautiful things than a female player who plays proper clay court tennis on clay and actually knows how to slide properly and hit with a lot of top spin.

The Williams sisters I don't enjoy watching play tennis - I enjoy watching them pick an opponent apart physically and mentally. Everybody thinks that they are physically stronger than everybody, and yes they are, but it's mentally where they dominate."

Mats coached Marat until Rather Recently BTW, and his brother coaches Sofia Arvidsson.

I like the 'picking apart' comment from Mats.

Gee, Mats, anyone would think you excelled as a clay court player, knew how to slide and hit with a lot of topspin, and picked opponents apart mentally and physically.

What? Australian Open champ 1983, 1984 and 1988. French Open champ 1982, 1985 and 1988. US Open champ 1988.

Details.

What does HE know about tennis?

He doesn't enjoy watching Venus and Serena... he does enjoy watching Venus and Serena pick opponets apart physically and mentally... So he watches them while not liking to watch them, but liking some things they do while he's watching them

Venus and Serena can't win them all

I guess you can´t enjoy it all...just some of it. So he doesn´t enjoy watching them but does enjoy watching them picking people apart.

I interpretted his comments on Venus and Serena to mean that he doesn't root for them, but respects their talents and enjoys to watch what they can do. His comment was rather ambiguous, however.

Its not about watching a beautiful game.....its about using what u have to win. For many years so call "experts" have preached what the RIGHT and WRONG TECHNIQUES to use....and mostly geared WRONG techniques towards the Williams Sisters until they proved THEM wrong. What's the use of having a "beautiful game" if u cant win. Anyway... @ Mats statement at the Williams sisters...who the hell is Mats Wilander anyway...and what notable accomplishments has me made in the tennis world?????????????

Venus and Serena ....Often imitated NEVER duplicated!!!!!!!
