Just supposed Kim, Justine, Venus and Serena ALL don't play RG ...

.. who's the fave?
  • Jenn the highest ranking ex-champ.
  • Lindsay won Amelia Island, so she's not incompetent on clay.
That leaves ...
  • Conchi with a chance to leave the ranks of the 'one slam wonders'
  • Svetlana Kuznetsova with a chance to improve on what's already been almost a dream year.
  • Amelie, if no one tells her. - (Thank you, fammmmedspin)
  • Paola Suarez as the highest ranked clay court 'specialist'
  • Vera Zvonareva as my prediction for RG champ.
  • ESPN crying like a just-jailed pimp with a cellmate named 'Ramrod'.

Not blind. Not uninformed. We are party to atrocities. But the response of the world after 9/11 is worth noting. Even our most dire enemies offered aid. We should all be so lucky.

Then it will be the most boring Grand Slam ever, with Amelie choking in the final to either a veteran who deserves a grand slam or a Russian teenager.

I'd have to say Amélie if no one tells her... the way she beat up on Jen over the weekend... wow.

If the Fantastic Four are indeed out, I'm hoping for an Amélie or Jen vs. pick a Russian final. I'd definitely watch that.

....This is fucked up, fucked up....

This is your blind spot, blind spot.
It should be obvious, but it's not.

You cannot kickstart a dead horse
You just crush yourself and walk away
I don't care what the future holds
Cause I'm right here in your arms today
With your fingers you can touch me

I'll be your black swan, black swan
I'm for spare parts, broken up.

OK if not Amelie can we have Patty and Conchita? Eggs thrown at Conchita for time wasting. Patty booed for dropping second set without trying. Patty playing hide the ball. Longest match since MJF v Sabatini. Patty and Conchita both swear at each other in french at the ceremony. Patty wins.

Or Russians take out Lindsay and Jennifer. Sprem, Golovin and italians take out anyone else and someone gets to final. Myskina beats all other Russians to get to final. Now we have a final with no obvious winner.

Have we forgotten about the reigning player of the week, Karolina Sprem?

** TP for Topaz or TennisPower **

"Some shots I will hit hard but not every ball. I'm not just using my power." - Serena Williams, Oct/2002

I think we'd be getting ahead of ourselves to predict her to win the French Open 2004.

damm, i was planning to start this EXACT SAME THREAD but 'Cana beat me to it

great minds think alike ;-)

but seriously, it looks like we are going to see Justine almost certainly in the FO draw, and a good chance Serena will be there, even if Venus doesn't recover in time. But whether these wounded big guns can survive deep into the draw is anybody's guess at this point.

I happen to think Sprem fits in very well next to Paola and Vera in Volcana's list.
If you reject the spirit of the thread, that's another issue.
