Playing lights out Tennis K-Lina extends Venus to three sets

How many players would have succumbed to Sprem on that day? Venus' mental strength pulled her through.

Sprem is most impressive young player, I hope she continues her rise to the top. Perhaps this match will kick her confidence up a notch or two. :worship

"And for the best of the teen-agers who followed her, and who occasionally referred to her as over the hill, Graf had a ready answer: against top-ranked Martina Hingis, Graf wound up 7-2. Graf's stirring 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 throttling of Hingis at the French Open final this June was perhaps the most emphatic parting shot the game has ever seen. "

I still cannot get over that Karolina had twice the many winners than Venus did in that match.

But as I said in another post, I truly believe having a big serve that is on is the key to winning big matches. That's why Vee escaped with the match.

Karolina only served at 51%. Imagine her serve had been 10-15% higher.........
