Venus withdrew from the final in Berlin

...I was just on the way to see it live

hope it's not too bad, they say it's a sprained ankle

at the end of the day, it is the right decision. it would have been completely irresponsible for venus to play and risk aggravating the injury. it's bad enough that kim clijsters is missing the FO and justine henin is in doubt. i don't want to see venus on that list.
