Currently #8 with Azarenka's withdrawal. If she wins her Montreal QF match she'll be right behind Carla for #7 in the race.

It's a selfish opinion, but I hope Sveta can make it to the YEC one last time before retiring... assuming she doesn't retire after the Olympics.

I think both Konta and Keys make it. Not sure about Sveta. She's older and needs a run in NY or Beijing

She'll do well in the Asian swing, just as she is doing now in America. Fast(er) hard courts are her best surface.

I think she'll be top 8 by the end of the year, so yes. Plus do we know if Serena will even play Singapore ever again? This and Azarenka being out makes me confident in thinking JoKo will reach the tour finals.

at this rate it looks pretty likely, I'd say
which sounds so weird... but she'd have earned it with regular solid results while most of the top players we're more used to flopped left and right

I see her outperforming Dominika and Carla for the rest of the year but Keys is a definite threat to her chances. She'll still qualify in 7th or 8th though.

Not a big fan of the YEC so the question hadn't even occurred to me.

To be honest every time one of these landmarks comes along I keep having to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming. Is this really the same girl who, 18 months ago, was ranked 147 in the World, was thrashed 6-1 6-0 by Govortsova in the Fed Cup and had her funding cut by the LTA?

I should probably stop pinching myself in case I wake up. Let the dream continue

currently she's at #9 in the race (sans Vika); 140 points behind Keys (or 190 points behind CSN if Keys gets to Rogers final)

i think she signed up for both Cincy and New Haven? with USO i dont see why she wouldn't do well
those could put her to maybe #7 or #8 in the race, although asian swing still plays a big part..

she probably will crack into top 10 somehow this season too, i presume.

I think it's possible, the usual big names have been all over the place this yearand possible her est part of the season is to come. However I still think Konta's mentality is patchy, she has to be mentally on top all match to win usually and she usually falters at some point. Her success depends on when she falters being on big or irrelevant parts of the match. It could go either way. However while I'd love her to make it, her last 12 months have far exceeded my expectations and completely made me re-evaluate what her career could be. A Premier title for Konta? I'm happy for the season already.

YEC is really open this year.

I guess it's safe to say that Serena, Angie, Garbiñe, Simona and Aga all will be there. Keys will probably make it as well given that she's basically no optional tournament in her breakdown. The last two spots could be Cibulkova, CSN, Sveta, Konta or a random player who peaks in Asia (Petra?).

Watch Aga go 0-2 in her group yet again and still make a SF.

Oh, but she still has to score a few wins here and there to make sure she'll make it to Singapore.
