That bandage/brace? Looks bad and a little desperate, wouldn't she be better served getting fully recovered and then coming back?

"And for the best of the teen-agers who followed her, and who occasionally referred to her as over the hill, Graf had a ready answer: against top-ranked Martina Hingis, Graf wound up 7-2. Graf's stirring 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 throttling of Hingis at the French Open final this June was perhaps the most emphatic parting shot the game has ever seen. "

Maybe Benny Hinn is gonna be in Rome and she's gonna get her "healing" that way...

If her doctor has said she can't injure further by playing, why not? I have no idea if her doctor has said any such thing.

Because doctors can be wrong! Steffi's doctor told her the same thing and in my mind that ended her career. She did further damage to her knee, had to take many months off...and struggled just to get back to something that resembled STEFFI GRAF.

Why did Venus continue to play after she reinjured her stomach at Wimby, or why do any other player play hurt??

You mean after Warsaw,
where she injured herself?

Serena advised her not to play RG but Vee
really wanted to play a decision she sort of regreted
in saying she should've maybe listened to Serena.

I guess it's just that competitive nature!
You want to compete so bad and at
times learn to compete with pain.

Well for the time being anyway Kim's wrist isn't hurting her. After her Fed Cup matches she said it didn't hurt that it was just a bit stiff..and she figured that had more to do with the brace. (she seems desperate to get rid of the brace )

If you've heard her talking about the injury, she's being very cautious. If it starts to hurt her again she'll stop. She's just taking it day by day at the moment.

Because she's not a Williams

"I told her, `You don't want to get into a hitting battle with Sharapova, because it would be uneven for Sharapova, because Sharapova only has one good side and that's her backhand,"'. "`You don't want to get into that for the simple reason you would win. So try to hit some balls to her strong side, to her backhand, and that would help you with your match for tomorrow

Well she did take a test on Thursday to determine whether she can play the FC or not. And they said that she was 98% heal and that's why she was playing the FC.

I really never understood Kim. She always seems to have these "serious" injuries and withdraws from a tournament, but plays a week later.

I don't know, but one day, I have a feeling it will bite her in the ass.

She needs to know when to play, and when not to play.

I can see her playing Berlin or Rome, but definitely not both. I think it would be too much on her wrist.

But, who am I to say anything??

She's healed alright. Her injuries have a habit of being very serious and disappearing completely, just as the prognosis is supposed to be bad still. Ankle injury that required surgery? Shoulder that required surgery? Wrist that she could not even use to wash her hair?

She's fine, and ready to slide into the clay season.

Take care of your character. Reputation will sort itself.

Her shoulder injury ruined her entire Spring of 2002 and requires her to do daily shoulder exercises to this day.
Her wrist was in a brace for 6 weeks.
