When they have 3 of the 4 majors, that takes up a lot of money. The Tennis Channel bought the rights to all of the major clay tournaments this year, and the indoor season in the fall. Apparently ESPN doesn't want to travel places expect for the Aus. Open, The French Open, and Wimbeldon. In the past ESPN has traveled to Germany, Italy, Monte Carlo, Moscow & Spain for tour events on the ATP and WTA tours. Since they got Wimbeldon, they've gotten stingy with their coverage.

Yea ESPN & ESPN2 don't really televise much of tennis. They mostly televise b-ball, football or other sports.

I forgot that they have the NBA now. ESPN has "more' important sports to televise like drag racing, little horse races, the outdoors, and the LPGA is oh so popular!

Yup, I think ESPN is sport-discriminate.

Yup The Tennis Channel rocks. You get to watch most of the live matches but you only pay $1.99/ month. Couldn't ask for more.
