NOTES:

* Not much of a clay courter, these past twelve months. Losses to Farina Elia and Mandula

* Best GS results hard court - QFs US and OZ

* Her best surface is carpet. Unfortunately, no GS is played on carpet.

This time last year, Nastya was in a pretty dismal slump (don't know the exact reasons, but I think she had 'personal issues' to sort out)... which effectively lasted until the US Open, where she reached the QF despite playing badly. I don't think those results are reflective of the standard she plays at now.

Years ago, she said clay was her best surface, and her favourite Slam is RG. I don't think I believe her, but it shows she has confidence on it at least.

Well, she defending very little, so if it really is her favorite surface, she may move up a notch or two in the rankings in the next month.
