SF or Title?

If you had to chose between a tier 1 title (lets say, Indian Wells or Miami) and a Grand Slam SF, which would you choose?

A title. Actually, even a tier 2 title... Look at Anna, she made the SF of Wimbledon and nobody cares, all they talk about is that she has no titles...

A GS semi !! (for Conchi for instance)
If Anna had won a Tier 2 but never passed 1/8 in GS, they wd have said "she's never done well in GS " !!! lol

CONCHITA-LINDSAY-MARY-HINGIS

KATA - AMG -
APS

Serena- Garcia- Hercog- KDK- Daniilidou- Puig- Muguruza...

Probably choose the Grand Slam SF - most people who don't follow tennis won't be familiar with the Indian Wells and Miami events

Definitely the title. I'd be satisfied with my lone tier II or III title for that matter

Lindsay Davenport - Anna Smashnova - Lisa Raymond - Sandrine Testud - Paola Suarez - Amelie Mauresmo - Virginia Ruano-Pascual - Nadia Petrova - Chanda Rubin - Cara Black - Tathiana Garbin - Anne Kremer - Monica Seles - Fabiola Zuluaga - Maria Sanchez-Lorenzo - Amanda Coetzer - Rita Grande - Meghann Shaughnessy - Magui Serna - Nathalie Dechy - Kim Clijsters - Elena Tatarkova - Maria Sharapova - Alicia Molik - Julia Vakulenko - Elena Likhovtseva - Anastasia Myskina - Emilie Loit

I agree 100%. No matter how good you are, if you don't win a title and get to, let's say three out of four grand slam finals [Kim], or five out of six [Venus], the best you'll ever be is a bridesmaid, but if you have a title to your credit, even if it is a Tier II (Dementieva won two Tier II and one Tier III (it could be more than that, but all I can remeber now is Amelia, Bali, and China, so be nice Dementieva fans) events last year, but and she hasn't even gotten to the semis of a Grand Slam (like I said earlier Dementieva fans, if I'm wrong, don't go crazy on me), but still her career ranks better than Kournikova's. In the words of Nelly, "Two (runner-up) is not a winner and three...nobody remebers."

In my opinion, if you win a Tier I, you should be able to win a GS. All of the Tier I winner this year have won at least three (Pan Pacific ~ Davneport [3] Indian Wells ~ Henin-Hardenne [3] Miami ~ Serena [6] Charleston ~ Venus [4]). So........... if you can win a Tier I, you should be able to win a GS, but of the two, the Tier I victory is much better!

Career Grand Slam in your 20s? Been there done that. Career golden slam your 30s?
There's only 1.
Been around the world, copped all 4 thrice.

Serena.[21]

Actually Dementieva has been to the semifinals of a GS (US Open 2000) and the year end championships (2000). She is also a five time finalist in Miami, ’s-Hertogenbosch, Acapulco, Moscow and the Sydney Olympics.
