Congrats Karo :cheer: :inlove: :woohoo:
Karo's clutch performance in saving crucial points is incredible in this tournament
these passing shots in the last point of this match and last point of 10th game of the 2nd (saving Ali's SFS)

Ali
she dictated most rallies, had no less than 6 SPs in the 1st set and 1 in the 2nd

How on earth did Alison lose this? :sobbing:

She had so many set points in the first and served for the second set twice. Lost opportunities. : (

The answer is easy. Alison is a mental midget not able to play well the big points. You can see that fear in her face, she just does not have it in her to prevail in close matches.

Good confident boost for Karolina for short grass season. Hopefully her leg will be ok. Credit for Alison, she played light out tennis and had her shots in the game but could not finish it in end of both sets (specially 6 SP in first set ).

great stuff for the very most part, but karos serve proved to be too much to handle for ali in the end. kudos to her, her grass game is so solid and intelligent... :worship:

as for karo: well done, my beloved serveborg.

Karo was very lucky to get this trophy with 2 sets.

well done though for the resistance in both
and Alison was a more than a tough opponent today :hatoff:

congrats Karo ! :yeah:

Great match Karo, some of her less attacng transitional shots like the last point was just too good and amazing. Her movement plus those shots shows why she is better than most hard hitting girls. Hope you can find some rhythm starting from here and do better in the second half of the season.

Alison, what a pity you cant win here and at the same time cannot compete in B'ham. Her play really suits this grass court.

The bigger serve won the day, but kudos to both ladies on a hard fought match. Karo held her nerve under intense pressure on big points, and Allie stayed invested throughout (despite so many missed opportunities) when lessor players would have been pouting, tanking or moping all over the court.

Very impressive from both...hope this bodes well for both at Wimby.

Titles on grass, clay, indoors and hardcourts! :worship:

You can tell Pliskova was exhausted. She was talking at a normal pace and breathing between sentences.

Congratulations to KaPlis; her great first serve + clutch serving at key moments really made the difference today as Riske played really well. Her 5th WTA title; good to see her win on grass with that serve.

Commiserations to Riske. Nice to see her smiling all the way through the trophy presentation. Would have liked it to go to 3 sets (but just as well it didn't as rain is predicted)

Uggghhhh Alison!!!!! Those set points... Gurl....

Gonna be remembering those... Had to miss BHam for this too, would have been nice to take this title. Hope she can find a way into Eastbourne

I guess she's peaking yet again before the big tournaments. :tears: Well done, Riske is a good grass court player. :yeah: Let's see if that leg will bother her in Birmingham.

YASSS!!! Karo's obligatory Grand Slam warm-up title before she inevitably flops in the first or second round at said Grand Slam. :hearts:

Ali, good luck at Wimbledon!

You may be actually right. Some fans on Czech tennis sites say that Karo is an idiot, spending her energy and beating a few 'scrubs' in MMs like Nottingham instead of facing tougher competition elsewhere which may force her improve her game.

Hard to say, but congrats nevertheless :D

Ali looks happier than Karo. :sobbing:
