I didn't see the whole thing, but basically Venus was looking in her bag and the umpire thought she was getting coaching. Venus went off on the umpire saying "I'm 36 years old, I can look in my bag if I want to, In my 20 years of playing I have never been accused of coaching. I play fair. Just FYI"
"Excuse me? I'm not even looking at my box. I'm 36 years old and never have I had a coaching violation in my career. Don't go there - I play fair. Just FYI"
Yep, even in the past few days, the British ES commentators made several comments about Ramos being known for getting involved where there was no real need.
We will find out more in the presser. Did Cornet initiate it? Really laughable that Venus was questioned when Cornet is on the other side of the net ....

I hadn't ever thought about it, but of course, keeping a phone in your bag would be a great way to cheat. Your coach would just text you. And players do keep notes to themselves in their bags, which is legal.
It was just a code violation for coaching. No big deal. If somebody in her box was gesturing things towards her then this can happen, even if she doesn´t look towards her box.
Then both players on every court in every match would be defaulted instantly. Every player would be warned and penalized if this were the rule. It's not the rule.

Venus is an example for the whole tour. She was unfairly accused of something but she doesn't let any frustration show in her behaviour and performance. Also still treats her opponent/detractor with respect, even though they don't deserve it, I think. Inspiration!
