It would be shocking for Kuznetsova, Kvitova, Begu, Stosur or Safarova to make the final?
The only one I could see that some would find shocking is Begu but I really don't think it would be. She's a great clay courter and has been having solid results this season - even beat Garbi on clay in Madrid and bageled Halep in her 3 set loss to her in the same tournament.
Who are all these people voting for Aga  I swear she wins every poll lately.
If they all make it to R4, the Simona-Lucie and Garbine-Sveta matches will be very telling. I've picked Simona, but not with a lot of confidence. I mean, she's probably the slight favorite, but not by much. I think the likely order of chance is: Simona>Garbine>>Lucie>Sveta.
Petra won't make it past the fourth round unfortunately. She'll either lose to Rogers or Begu if she makes it that far, she could self implode against Beck too. So... unfortunately, she has the lowest chance of the players in the poll.
I'm not convinced by Simona's form so far in this tournament considering how hard she struggled against a sub-par Diyas in the second round, but she could very well just catch fire any moment and play her best tennis. If she could she could reach the F but the potential 4R against Safarova would be very telling.
Garbine has been up and down throughout her matches but if she keeps the level she showed in her R2 match she could very well reach the final here, but who knows with her considering she isn't the most consistent of players.
But as of now I'm gonna vote for Lucie because she looks the most focused and determined out of all the players in the bottom half of the draw and her performance yesterday was the sharpest I've seen from a seed, Serena included.
I think it's between Halep, Muguruza and maybe Aga. Petra possibly but it's all dependent on how consistent she can be and a match against a good defensive player like Halep or Aga would most likely end her run. Kuznetsova is also a possibility but she's always a surprise package so one never knows.
Safarova looked the cleanest in the first 2 rounds. But don't know how she stand in her match ups with Halep.
But I guess winner of Halep/Safarova R4 will have the best chances.
Halep, the deeper she gets the harder it will be to beat her.
Her toughest competition should be Muguruza, possible semi-final... but Mugu's mental strength could swing either way that day.
I think Halep's mental strength and focus IS getting better as she wins more matches, but I don't think she is quite there yet.
I think she is favoirite on the bottom half, however, because of her poor health and shaky start to the year, this position as favourite has shaky foundations... I wouldn't be surprised if she was upset before the final, as much as I won't be surprised if she does make the final.
Yes, we get it, you don't like Halep. If only they'd perform to our liking and results would depend on the size and aggressiveness of fan bases.
Truth is, Aga, Mug, Petra & Simo have fairly equal chances to make it from the bottom draw. Then follow Kuzzy, Lucie and maybe even Irina, who knows? For the rest, anybody could do it. No bad player left on that side of the draw. Underrated, maybe, but at peak and with some luck anyone could make it.
I could give it a shot at voting after R3, if we get a couple of upsets, but currently there are too many of them, with very close chances. And in WTA you also never know "which player" will show up on court the next day, which makes it even more difficult to make a decent prediction.
One nice thing to see here in the entire draw after round 3 the women have only one less seed than the men, which hasn't been the case in most events in a long time... Lots of good match ups left here.
