42 winners, 19 UEs

That was Serena today vs Mary Pierce.

Proud to be an American
Not blind. Not uninformed. We are party to atrocities. But the response of the world after 9/11 is worth noting. Even our most dire enemies offered aid. We should all be so lucky.

This sounded like a fairly well played (or clean) match on both sides, regardless of the score. So congratulations to both players! But for Serena to have that many winners on clay, for her first match on the surface in nine months (and having just come off of hard courts) is very impressive.

She said she sees herself doing better on clay this year, because it's easier on her knee. Plus, I think Serena has grown more patient. So, we'll see how the rest of the tournament turns out.

Yep...Serena´s more and more willing to stay in a rally now and that is a good sign for the upcoming clay-season.
