Exclamation Amelia Island Will Have A New Champion For A Fourth Straight Year

Unfortunately, Elena Dementieva had to retire from her match with Jelena K because a a shoulder injury, so there will be a new champion this year like there was in 2001, 2002 and last year.

With Elena out and Justine looking beatable for now, the winner could be either Amelie or Serena, but I think Amelie is a better bet.

So Justine is suddenly out of the picture because of one difficult match?

If only I was sure that my head on the door was a dream

That's why I said for now

Anything could happen. Did you expect Elena not to repeat as champion, regardless of her injury?

That's bad!!
I thought that Elena had a chance to defend!

This year was the year of DEFENDING TITLES after all!

I don't see Lindsay getting past Serena, Mary or other stronger clay players. She moves too slow on clay.
