Myskina, smooth and natural, Dementieva needs to "work" more, with her "mechnical" open stance shots which are also effective but can break down.

AGREE! Myskina is great off the ground, esp. on backhand side.

Yes. Spikey is right.
Dementieva seems to have to exert more enery into her shots. They are not as smooth flowing and natural as myskina.

Myskina's Shots is more natural and more smooth while Dementievas shots are just usual. Forehand wise, I think Dementieva's is a bit more powerful but Myskina is more smooth.

hmm, guess i'm in the minority here I voted Elena D. Is this a "better looking" poll or effectiveness of shots?

I voted for Myskina because I have watched both when they were on and Myskina is a real threat then, but I don't consider Elena to be.
Myskina's groundies are both powerful and consistent, and they look really good.

See I am with you. I think Elena is much more powerful off the ground than Myskina is. Elena relies a lot more on her power while I think Myskina mixes up her shots.

Watching Elena against Venus last week, I don't think Myskina could have challenged her the same way just on groundstrokes alone but hell I could be wrong too.

Elena has a much more powerful forehand (she can smack it anywhere), but Anastasia has a better backhand. Overall, Elena's more capable of blasting winners, and Anastasia's more consistent and reliable. Mentally, they're both capable of turning into basketcases...

I agree with you too. Also Myskina has more varity than Dementieva lacks despite Dementieva has a more powerful groundies than Myskina. Myskina has better of the game plan than Dementieva. You have to know that groundies alone don't win matches is how do use them is the matter. Espeacilly after what I saw against Serena in Maimi. Anyway, both needs to improve their serves Myskina serves is O.K. but like most Russians except kuznetsova it lacks of varity and for Dementieva she has to improve on that it's so bad that I bet lots people in this forum can serve better than her.
