What Will Venus's Year-End Ranking Be?

I'm just curious to what you all think.
Obviously, I'm biased. Some are in the other direction as well. But for those who could care less, what do you think Venus's year-end ranking will be, and how many tournaments do you think she will win?

Realistically, I say 4th, with 4-6 tournaments.

I don't see her back in the top 10 before the year is over.

Well, I honestly, I don't see her winning any tournaments this year. She has yet to impress me. I think your top 10 will look something like in no order)
Justine, Serena, Kim, Lindsay, JCap, Amelie, Anastasia, Elena, Nadia, and maybe kuznetsova.. not sure about space #10, but I think all those girls will keep her out of the top 10, and between the first three, I think they will keep Venus from winning a title

She will get into the top-10, perhaps even top-5 (will be on 5 spot in that case). She's already playing on top-15+ level.

I think below top 10 maybe around 12 or 13. But by this time next year i reckon top 10 again, maybe top 5.

Actually, Venus impressed me somewhat in her first match. She made errors, and her first serve wasn't too good. But everything else was solid. Her forehand was great (well not great, she made a lot of shank errors, but when she hit it properly it was spectacular) and I think she played better than Serena has so far.

But since that injury she has just gotten worse. Up and down. However I think its kind of rediculous to think that someone who's such a champion would just go a full year out of the top 10, just my 2 cents.

Well if she were to play like a champion then maybe she would make it, but I just don't think so, sorry it was my opinion. You don't have to call it rIdiculous. I respect your opinion, you can respect mine. I just don't think Venus is playing at top 10 level. Her forehand and second serve are hideous!

Exclamation

She should end the year in the top ten because as I stared before, all the players who did well in her and Serena's absence now have to defend those points and keep in mind that Venus has zero points to defend after Wimbeldon. Other than Venus and Maria Sharapova, I don't see anyone else ranked 11-20 getting inot the top ten before the end of the year.

Wow! You can communicate all of that with just a "stare"? LOL.

Luckily for Venus, she only has to get to the QF at the French, to not lose points. But she has to get to the Wimbledon final in order to not lose points. The US Open will just be free points.

It remains to be seen how Serena and Venus will hold up once they start to play more often, if they do play more often. How will their bodies hold up?

I can see Serena in the top 5 again, but I don't know if Venus will make top 10. I'd say 10 or 11 by year's end, at best. You've got players like Lisa Raymond beating Venus, so how likely is it that she even makes a final. Also, we don't know what the draws will look like at some of these slams. Venus might have the misfortune of drawing Serena in the Quarters of Semis of some tournament, and it's highly unlikely that she'll challenge Serena in a match.

She hasn't gotten worse,
just irratic!

First and foremost for Venus is
keeping the injuries at bay!

If she can do that she'll
have half of her work done!

Second, just to become more consistent!
She has been stringing together a couple
of good matches and simply needs to extend that.

Third, staying positive!
She's not getting down on herself and is not allowing
anyone else's opinions influence how she know she feels!

I think she'll be fine!

Also, let's not forget that Venus only has THREE tournaments left
in which she has any points to defend.(albeit two of them being Slams).

She's at 16 now and if she can defend her points(Warsaw-F, FO-4th, W-F) anything besides these three tournaments is nothing but gain for Venus!

So, IMO her main issue for the time being is health more than really anything!
I pray she can keep up her health!

I personally wouldn't count Venus out of being in the top ten, five, or higher.
No one knows what the next few months will bring as things in the WTA are known to turn on a dime!
