The Tennis Drinking Game!

I thought this would be fun. Next time you watch a tennis tournament on TV, get a glass of your favorite, non-alcoholic drink and take a sip every time one of the following occurs. If anyone thinks of others, feel free to add some.

Take a drink anytime

1. (for ESPN viewers) P-Mac says “the Dropper!” or “the topper!”
2. The commentators talk about Serena’s outfit
3. A commentator questions Jen’s fitness
4. Kim does the splits
5. The camera shows Lleyton Hewitt during a Kim match
6. The words “comeback” or “Cinderella” are mentioned during a Jen match
7. Dementieva’s second serve is criticized
8. Venus or Jen double faults
9. The networks cut away during a women’s match to show a men’s match
10. Lindsay sulks and drops her shoulders
11. Justine shouts “allez!”
12. the terms “clay court specialist” or “dirtballer” is said on camera
13. Andy Roddick serves an ace
14. One of the Russian players is compared to Anna
15. A commentator mispronounces a player’s first and/or last name
16. The commentators talk about themselves
17. Roger Federer is compared to Pete Sampras or is called a "genius"
18. The commentators mention all or one of the following during an Agassi match:
-How Andre runs up hills in Las Vegas
-Andre’s charities
-When commentators compare the number of titles Andre and Steffi have won
-How Andre takes the legs out of his opponents
-That Andre is the best returner in the game
-How important Gil Reyes is to Andre’s life and game
-How Andre used to be a punk, but gosh darn it, he’s such a beautiful human being now
-How Andre is so old
etc.
19. (for ESPN viewers) anytime P-Mac talks about the “young guns”
20. (for US viewers) anytime it rains during the US Open and the Jimmy Conners/Aaron Krickstein match or the 2001 Andre/Pete QF is shown.

I know this kinda doubles up with commentators talking about themselves.. but when Pam Shriver says "back when i was playing on the tour"

ELENA

I'm sure we've had one of these before. It was something veryborednow did if I'm not mistaken. I'll trawl through their posts to see if I can find it again.

Found the original.

http://www.wtaworld.com/showthread.php?t=40218

Also goes to show where the tour was less than a couple of years ago and how things have changed.

Good thing its non-alcoholic because I would be on a hospital bed after a Dementieva/Capriati match

It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning's winning

Reading back on the original, it strikes me that it was very up-to-date at the time, but now, it looks extremely dated. And it's only a year and half ago. Makes me wonder where the game will be in 18 months from now anyway, but if nothing else, the game makes a good reference point.

Of course the one that would leave anyone paralytic is on British TV when all other matches are ignored in favour of Tim Henman. If we drank everytime that happened, the entire country would never come out of their collective drunken stupor. But that may just be the only way to tolerate watching Tim. Now there's an idea!
