But that really depends on whether Wimbledon will want the roof, of if they wish to keep to their traditions...

Pfff wimby's not the same without rain delays

Good luck to my favs

We'll still have rain delays, only shorter ones.

And the chances of Conchita winning Wimbledon would diminish greatly with such a roof

That would be great, but I don't really see it happening, Wimbledon, with all its traditions...

Question

How will the closed roof affect the surface? Any difference?

Halle after one week of playing some matches under the roof resembles a potato field.

Wimbledon is a two week event and it would be disaster for the grass, cut up all over.

Good luck to my favs

Exactly why they shouldn't have a roof!

It's only 2 weeks, why can't we put up with the rain? Afterall, it does make tournament unique and interesting! I mean if you're going to start changing things where's it going to end? No grass? Leave England?

People just have to look at the state of the pitch at the Millenium Stadium to see exactly what would happen to the grass at Wimbledon.

Mud wrestling would fast become a more suitable sport the grass cannot grow as well I suppose something to do with natural light...

and where they produce desolation, they call it peace

Angry

no, I don't like it

when the grass gets wet, the surface is slower and the bouncing gets nuts.

That favours Justine and Martina.

Also, it seems to me Justine doesn't like to play indoors, to start off, she likes wearing her cap but also she doesn't seem to feel too comfortable with a roof over her head.
