That's the big thing. For the last 6 months Broady has consistently gone deep in high level ITF and WTA events. Often from qualifying for the later. She has just won the biggest title of her career and she has huge scope to gain points as she doesn't have much to protect until the 2nd half of the year and she is so much a better player than last year. Her one handed backhand has gone from useless; to patchy; to a weapon that is patchy. Awesome stuff. Kinda vindicated in not playing fed Cup though I do wish Judy can talk her into it at some point soon. A Broady/Konta/Watson/Robson/Swan teem will be more depth for Britain than I have ever known.
Now has the doubles win. Nice to see the lovely, big, warm hug at the net too between these two.
Funny how the win against Anderson was one of those catalysts for Broady's rise last summer. Now this is the one that throws Broady into the Top 100.
Anderson has greatly improved since last year in her tennis and in terms of her physique. Great she had such a great tournament, I'm glad she is going to rise hugely, she's such a lovely girl and sooooo tiny compared with Broady.
Although I agree, it's funny though because everyone was saying she was a walking bye in qualifying too and I remember looking at the betting thread where tons of people put a lot on Cagla Buyukakcay to win :crying:
I just realised that Naomi is only 62 points behind Heather
And Heather has more points to defend over March-April and Naomi will be getting ranking opportunities she has never had before. Naomi may steal her position as British number two.
