WHats the difference between hard court/Grass court?

Some people do better on a grass court than other surfaces. What parts of a players game allow them to be better at a grass than clay? Hiw does the ball bounce on grass as opposed to other surfaces? I am bringing this up because I wonder why some of my favorites like Capriati has not made it far in grass tournaments...

you gotta stay down really low on grass courts...the ball doesn't bounce as high...i guess that's why volleys are so effective...but it's a lot faster than clay obviously

Before the Wimbledon final in 1999 she was talking about how low she would have to bend to get to Steffi's slice backhand and she really meant it, her knees almost touched the court at times. If you haven't seen the match, you should!!

hmm...well grass courts are faster and lower-bouncing than hard-courts. I don't know if there's much else of a difference....

Well, grass is faster than hardcourts to begin and on grass you can literally win with just a serve: in the men´s field...
