Players Games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I figured with the depth of women's tennis...we should pick a players and layout their game. Their best shot, wealness, their game and how they play..like ANY player....I'll start with Lucic and Dokic

Dokic : one dimensional, hits HARD and FLAT and goes for her serves, occasionally doublefaults...and basicallly all power

Lucic : hardest hitter in my opinion, unconsistant and very flat shots, big serve, also one dimensional

I'll start with an analysis one of my favourites :

KAROLINA SPREM :

Has a very fast 1st service : she uses a very basic service technique but this works really well for her : her swing is near perfection. The problem is that she needs to maintain this during the whole match. The fact that she has problems to keep her 1st serve in towards the end of the match is that her service is not her most natural strike, and the least natural strikes are always the ones who hamper first when a player gets tired. Her 2nd service still needs some improvement. If Sprem could serve with a bit more spin than her serve could be even more dangerous.

Her backhand is without a doubt her best strike, it is no coincidence that Farina was always aiming at her forehand. Sprem plays her forehand with extreme grip and this makes it difficult to play crossballs but thanks to the way she turns her body around the ball and her positioning of her shoulders she can hit great crossballs from one corner to another. Her forehand is improving all the time and although her backand is still by far her more consistent shot (she hits more direct faults with her forehand) she can easily score winners with both backhand & forehand. Both strikes are great.

Sprem has lots of power and she can strike very precisely, she plays very modern tennis with a fantastic return, this is the tennis of the future. Sprem is also a player who leaves her oponent no time to rest since she continues to attack with high speed strokes all the time.

What she needs to improve on her game are her volley's though, she always attacks from the baseline and seldom comes to the net, but with her game this is not really necessary.

Overall I would say that this is a player who belongs in the top 10.

Justine Henin-Hardenne:

Justine Henin-Hardenne started out as a technician without much power (1998-2000).
But then she began working out with Etcheberry and now she's one of the hardest hitters in the game.
Players can try and build their muscles just like Justine, but only few will have the same finesse and technique she has.
Her onehanded backhand is her most natural shot and can create the sharpest angles, but her forehand has more spin to it and hits harder.
Her forehand sometimes lands a bit short, and therefore can be attacked by the other big hitters.
Her service is a weapon, although far from consistent.
She can barely hit 50% in in a match, but this is partially because of her short stature and lack of reach, for the same reason she also hits a lot of double faults.
Justine is one of the few players who's netgame is a weapon, she knows when to come to the net, and her volleys are great, she especially comes to the net when she's playing on grass.
Her favorite surface is clay, simply because she can be patient when she has to, she gets more balls back than anyone else, and she has more variety than anyone else.
She slices and dices, uses topspin lobs or heavy backspin dropshots, and hits flat winners when she has to, that's why many people find her the most entertaining player to watch.
