Wait, I am missing something here. Where is the outcry, that she withdrew after the draw was made
outcries only start when players do it tournament after tournament after tournament... :tape:

(btw i do think justine should have withdrawn sooner, what with the wednesday/thursday riots seeming quite silly right now)

I'm soooooo dissapointed  There goes my great week of Antwerp.OTOH I'd rather see Justine withdrew now than seeing her crash out of the first round.I guess,Justine matured and has learned allot from her first-round defeat against Kapros at RG two years ago.Well, she tried, she even waited until the last moment but helas it wasn't meant to be.Well, get wel soon Justine and hopefully you'll be at your full forces again in Dubai

Gopher's thread is a tongue-in-cheek. It is not a fact that Henin withdrew because she is afraid of Clijsters. We all know that is bullocks. I am asking about the venom that usually goes with other top players withdrawals.
Sure every fanbase has its idiots and I am sure you would know much about that:p
I think you mean BOLLOCKS!! (but its not actually, little Juju is scared shitless of Kim indoors - remember Filderstadt and the fear written all over Juju's face in the third set)

Thanks for the correction. I am sure Henin will gladly hand her over the win here and take the grandslam finals. I could be wrong.Dunno:tape:

Proximus Diamond Games: Justine withdraws

19/02/2004:

Justine was forced to withdraw from the tournament. Nevertheless, she’s rather fond of the Proximus Diamond Games. That’s why she waited till the last minute to withdraw.

It was a very tough decision. I really waited till the last moment to decide. For a couple days now, it was clear to my husband and coach that I wouldn’t play today. Yesterday eveing, I had a long conversations with my doctors who told me that I would have to recover several weeks if I made a mistake this week.

I have respitoral problems. I feel a lot weaker and tired now. It’s hard for me to accept it, but there’s nothing I can do about it. I don’t want to make the same mistake again as I did on Roland Garros two years ago, I felt the same then and I played, but it didn’t pay off…”

Justine’s fans aren’t very pleased with the news ofcourse. They had ordered numerous tickets already.
I’m really sorry for my fans, I know that they were waiting impatiently until I would have to play. I really wanted to take part in this tournament, beacause it’s always fun playing for your own crowd. But I have to be honest with myself, it’s a matter of having respect for me and for my fans. Two years ago, I could never have made such a decision, but I can’t play if I have to play with 50% of my capacities. I’m truly sorry for the organisation and for my fans.

Get well soon, Justine! She should be fine for Dubai!

Points to defend, Baby!
