*random* I was at the 2002 Paris Final when both the singles and the doubles final were walkovers. Dokic hurt herself beating Seles and Dementieva hurt herself in doubles. So we had a Venus/Amelie vs. Mansour Bahrami/Yonnick Noah exhibition... which, although entertaining was nowhere near what I paid for pretty choice seats.

^ 4000 miles is a long way to travel for an exhibition match.

I could have applied for a full refund, but since I live in the USA, it would have taken up to 10 weeks they said. So I took my lumps and enjoyed most of the exo before leaving for a walk down the Seine. Anything is Paris is a.o.k. in my book - so I ain't mad at 'em. I did get to see Monica three matches there and Venus for the first time, and honestly the best match ever played in 2000 - the Venus/Momo SF 4.6 7.6 7.5. So all in all it was great time, just bummed to not see a Final match.
