Pretty much.

Her year was very, very mediocre - and it was hardly a banner year for the WTA in general.

Despite her mini renaissance at the back-end of 2014, she has been on a clear physical decline for the past few years. For a player which relies so heavily on her defensive abilities, getting injured every few weeks just isn't going to cut it.

I agree, La Borz is the opposite of Halep. She always says everything is okay, she's always feeling like she's playing her best tennis,... Neither extreme is good, tbh.

Also, Guest stans are so original...

One thing for me is that Wozniacki never tells the truth.

I mean from the first line there is a denial. "Reflects on a solid season with hopes of even higher highs next year". There's no real honesty there, as it's hard to believe she truly believes that.

All in all it's a strange article as even some of the way things are presented are sketchy. It says Kuala Lumpur catapulted her to success in Stuttgart, which is kind of a tough sell when they are around 2 months apart and Indian Wells and Miami, where she underperformed is in between. It says her Asian swing was solid, a swing where she went 4-3, and didn't make QF at either of the bigger events.

It either refuses to focus on any of the negatives or she is in denial about them. Because again the stuff about she had a good first half of the season, good clay season is a half truth at best. Her clay season was what, a final in Stuttgart and then barely won a match after that?

I don't know who influences the direction of articles but from her typical work, it would suggest her, as this is the general pattern always when she talks about how she's doing. You'd like to see a bit more honesty and admission of what she needs to do to get better, rather than largely ignoring that anything is wrong, and glossing over her season as solid.

It's hard to tell whether she's lying or if she's truly in denial about her position in the sport.

Honestly, I think it's the latter. If you look at the degree of delusion some of her fans are in, people who aren't even in direct contact with her, it's not hard to imagine that she's surrounded by yes-people who fuel this notion that she's a fantastic player who's just been unlucky all the time.

There seems to be no one near her who's willing to reality-check her which is sort of sad but then again, everyone chooses the people they surround themselves with :)

Hmm. Guest stans always trying to drag La Borz for things like this. Meanwhile, their fave keeps saying how she is going to SHUT DA HATERS UP and whatever else.

Ironic?

Look at the title. This isn't about that Estonian girl. :x
Even if Woz year wasn't that different from hers. :tears:

oh dear, it was inevitable... :spit:

i really do wonder though who of the two girls is going to start winning big again as their respective trajectories in the last couple of years must not necessarily imply otherwise due to various reasons.
and, of course: whose fanbase is going to be bald then like probably no fanbase ever was in the most recent history of TF.

Live shot of Guest fans trolling in this thread. And you know if this was happening in a Guest thread (too bad nobody cares about her to make any), they would all be spamming the report button and getting everything deleted. SO sad.

Smitten is actually trying to make a point here, explaining that Azarenka has been limited in the last few years by a chronic injury. All Azarenka fans can do (and others that don't have anything better to do) though is dragging Wozniacki because of her lack of titles and poor year in Grand Slams.
Obviously, Wozniacki has many limitations as well. She has been having injuries herself, and she has gaps in her game. Obviously Azarenka's peak game was able to win two Grand Slams, something that Woz was unable to do. But just like Guest fans keep talking that we can't live in the past when saying that Woz got to #1 and was there for more than a year, you also should recognize that while Azarenka won two Slams, at the moment she's also far from getting to that position, and stop trolling about Woz results, when Azarenka's haven't been that much better this year.

Not Guest anymore ?

The difference between Wozzy and Vuvurenka is that Wozzy has ambition and fighting spirit while all that Vuvu chick comes with is promises and empty words but every year since 2013 is the same for her. Oh, and let's add she's too busy with taking selfies and turning every match into a drama.
Wozzy had a bad year indeed, but anyway she won a title and I know she'll reborn like Phoenix next year.
It's a big gap between them two.
:haha:

I mean, Maria didn't win much between her comeback in mid-2009-Rome 2011, unless you want to count her Tokyo Slam in 2009 against an injured Empress and those 2010 MMs. Vika would have titles in 2014 and definitely 2015 if she swallowed her pride like Maria did and played MMs. She refuses to.
I don't think it's a question of pride. She's playing with what seems a chronic foot injury that's going to condition her schedule probably for the rest of her career. She's barely making it with half a schedule.

Push, Caro, push until you push yourself all the way that Slam! :oh:

Because Woz never does that :spit:

And  at saying Woz has "ambition and fighting spirit" while Vika doesn't. What has that ambition gotten her since 2012? 3 MMs. :spit:
