The WTA 125k series is growing on me. It's providing an important "transistion" level of tournaments similar to challengers in the ATP now it has been moved away from it's original "for chinese players" intention. Or at leats it could be a WTA analogue to the Challenger tour if it continues to grow.
I'd personally love it, in some sort of vague realistic in going to places not to rich and could do with growing a tennis base, but also optomistic way for it to spread through Eastern Europe, Africa and South and Central America. Places that either should have a tournament because they provide the tour with so mnay players (Eastern Europe) or are ignore Africa) or neglected (South AMerica).
My proposed WTA 125k additions in an ideal world would be:
In South/Latin America/West Indies: Caracas, George Town, Porto Algre, La Serena, Quggaquil, Santa Lucia, Montego Bay.
I chose these as beautiful coastal spots with tourism. If money sin't a huge attraction these places will be.
Europe: Budapest, Bratislava, Kosice, Brno, Constanta, Varna, Vlore, Klaipedia, Riga and Tallnin, Athens Tricity area and Dreseden, Cardiff and Glasgow.
I chose these because a) Love eatsenr european cities eople would love to travel to. b) A few baltic states/northern europe choices because it's nice there and our resident Netto Mynx also a climate that could support muchneed grass tournaments and c) Britain could do with a late winter indoor season and would support it as we are one of the most tennis amd countries (despite the reputation as just watching Wimbledon) and sharing the tennis tournaments with Scotland and Wales #growthegame
Africa:
Port ELiabeth, Cape Town, Gaborone in Botswana, Cape Coast in Ghana, Mombasa (Kenya), Zanzibar.
I guess South Africa would be first choice for it's obvious economic power but the other choices are Beautiful areas with growing economies and tourism.
On top of those It seems Mumbai or Chennai in India are logical, maybe Vladivostok or Khabovousk because the Russian far eats is underrated. Maye San Francisco would be good and the old Us tournaments like the much missed Amerila island.
